I discovered the joy of travelling literally from 2013, which was the first time I self-planned a family trip to Australia.
In 2014, my husband and I decided to embark on a 1.5-month road trip in our home land, Malaysia (1-month in Peninsular Malaysia and roughly 2 weeks in only two cities in East Malaysia).
It had given us an opportunity to explore places in our country that we knew just a little or nothing at all. This road trip has inspired me in many ways in my future travel journey.
BELIEF
One destination at a time is my most favourable style of travel. And I always believe that the overall experience and discoveries throughout the journey are more precious than a mere destination “check-in”.
With one destination at a time, the journey would be filled with more in-depth stories gathered from events, people, places, food, culture, etc. that enrich the entire travel experience and create wonderful recollection of moments.
SOME DISCOVERIES & STORIES
I had never ever wondered how was it like to:
spend a night in The Sahara Desert
stay on a frozen lake for almost an hour waiting for the Northern Lights, as well as to try out ice fishing in Finland
encounter icy road condition on a slope during a road trip in Slovenia without any prior experience and right gear
join yoga classes by the river during a cool December while observing the sun gradually warming the sky of Luang Prabang, Laos
Spending most of my life in the Southern and Central Malaysia, I had never knew:
that beaches and villages along the coastal drive of the Federal Route 3 in Malaysia would be ideally picturesque
that the paddy fields in Perlis would be exceptionally green and breathtaking
how miserable it would be to hike Mount Kinabalu with a slippery outsole
that I would miss the food in the East Coast of the Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak so much
